TexasCMELog

TexasCMELog is a free tool built by William C. Fox, MD, a Houston interventional radiologist licensed in Texas, to help Texas physicians track CME and report it in CE Broker without paying for an upgrade. We check every rule against the Texas Medical Board's rules and pages, list sources, and date each check. We are not affiliated with TMB or CE Broker.

Why it exists

Since September 1, 2026, Texas physicians must report all CME in CE Broker before they can renew. The free Basic account takes the reports but doesn't tell you what's still missing. TexasCMELog turns TMB's rules into a checklist for your renewal cycle and gives you copy-ready entries for CE Broker Basic.

Who built it

William C. Fox, MD is an interventional radiologist in Houston. He earned his MD at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. You can verify his Texas medical license with TMB's Look Up a License tool.

How we verify

  • Primary sources only: 22 TAC §161.35, the Texas Register, the Texas Occupations Code and TMB's own pages. CE Broker's help center is used only for how its screens work.
  • Every rule shows its citation and the date we last checked it.
  • We re-verify monthly, and whenever the Texas Register publishes TMB rule adoptions or CE Broker changes its Texas requirement list.
  • We flag conflicts. Where TMB's web page and the rule text differ (for example, carry-forward exclusions), we say so and use the stricter rule.
  • Rules last verified: October 16, 2026.

Changelog

  • Oct. 16, 2026: Added the nutrition & metabolic health requirement (SB 25). Corrected opioid frequency (direct patient care only: renewals 1 and 2, then every 4th). Carry-forward now excludes ethics, opioid and human trafficking credits. SB 31 is now tracked as MyTMB-only and kept out of the CE Broker queue. HB 47 wording now distinguishes the statute (ER setting) from TMB guidance (urgent care), and the non-ER attestation was added. Ethics is now covered under alternate compliance, per TMB's chart. Removed the per-wave renewal counts and any 30-day CME cure messaging.
  • Oct. 16, 2026: Launched.

Conflicts of interest

TexasCMELog is free. We don't sell CME and have no affiliate links. If that changes, we'll disclose it clearly on every affected page.

Trademarks and affiliation

CE Broker is a product of Propelus. TexasCMELog has no relationship with CE Broker, Propelus or the Texas Medical Board, and nothing here implies endorsement.
